Coach Lane enters his fifth season as head men’s soccer coach at Langham Creek HS. Coach Lane carries an overall record of 486 – 155 – 97 over twenty-four years as a high school head coach. In his first two seasons, the Lobos have gone 21 – 20 – 10 and advanced to the second round of the play-offs in 2014. Prior to Langham Creek, Lane coached for fourteen years at Brenham HS where his teams posted an overall record of 323 – 56 – 55. The Cubs qualified for the playoffs every year and won 9 district championships, appeared in 8 regional tournaments, 5 state tournaments and they were the state runner-up 3 times (2001, 2004, 2008). Prior to arriving at Brenham, he coached at Spring HS from 1992 – 1999, where he posted a record of 101 – 58 – 26 in eight seasons as the men’s head coach which included 4 playoff appearances and one district championship and a 41 – 21 – 6 record in three seasons as the women’s head coach which included two play-off appearances. Prior to that, he was the head men’s coach at the University of Houston from 1989 – 1991, and posted a 10-6-4 regular season conference record over two seasons qualifying for the conference tournament both years).

Coach Lane has a BS in Physical Education from Southern Utah University. He also holds the NSCAA Premier and Advanced National diplomas and the USSF ‘B’ and Youth National licenses. He has worked with South Texas ODP and has trained select teams throughout the Houston area since the 1980’s, and is currently the Director of the Texans Soccer Club – Cypress Division. He is also a past president of the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) and was inducted into the TASCO Hall of Honor in 2011.

Coach Lane is married to Jennifer (TAMU ’89), who is a former teacher / coach and is currently a counselor at Mayde Creek High School.
